Dumbing down is Katie Price Kerry Katona Peter Andre they have all been presenters but give nothing of themselves and can barely present.
If you want to say TV as a whole is dumbing down then I agree with you but when someone does a job well I cannot sit by and say she was pants because it simply does not work that way.
Taste Is another thing some will hear her accent and switch off or maybe have hated her mannerisms and they will see that as bad presenting but TV is measured with viewing figures and they tell us very clearly that Cilla Black was a very good presenter.
I believe it or not would never watch blind date definitely not Surprise Surprise but I did occasionally because of my family loving the show and it was obvious why they loved it and predominantly it was to do with Cilla Black presenting.
You want to talk about dumbing down " Its the media stupid" , look at any TV and read any newspaper now today 2015 the 80's 90's have nothing on what is going on today.
